Hi everyone
when my first initial mascot idea didn't meet qualifications for the contest, I went to my next option and gave it a shot in trying to create the Geico gecko. I knew in attempting this custom that it would take me to a new territory in customizing by trying to create a animal creature body type from random fodder parts and making a whole new head sculpt from scratch..(GULP!)
This gecko creature with a co*ckney british accent can be seen multiple times in a day in geico commericals where 15 minutes can save you 15% in car & motocycle insurance. The gecko is very charming and has a lot of charisma and is Geico main advertising mascot.
This is what I did to create him. First I got a random torso from my fodder. Then attached and shorten Sota Ibuki arms and plugged in ML Wasp hands. Added a half inch of sculpt on his lower torso to give him a little longer mid-section and height. Next I took DC infinite Batman legs, sanded down the boots and added Baf Hit Monkey feet. I Combined the legs to the torso and his base was created. For his head,I used Epoch Eddy Gordo and cut off his hair and began sculpting the gecko head over Eddy Gordo entire head. I used many pictures of the CG gecko and some of the cartoony artwork as references. I also did sculpt work all over his body and applied some texture on his skin and lower mouth area, then installed ML X-Men Night Crawler bendy tail to its base. Finally painted him up in multiple colors of green, yellowish white and random orange leopard gecko spots on his back. High gloss glazed his eyes to give it a wet look and he was done
This was my first time doing this type of figure customizing, it was definitely a new exprience. Hopefully you like
( I personally named him ) Gordo Gecko! =)
Thanks for visiting

Hey bash bro, sorry for not recognizing this earlier. This went up while I was away. Awesome job brother, you captured the look of my second favorite Gecko character perfectly. Sorry, Mondo GECKO is still my favorite. Lol. Your sculpt work and paints are top notch, and I love that pic with him and the Turtle van.

Very impressive. Your sculpt and paint are very close to the CG model, as are the body proportions. I also like your humorous photos, particularly the Gremlins and "Will work for crickets" sign.
I seriously think you send some of your photos of this guy to Geico--you never know, they might want to use it in a future commercial, and what could be better for exposure of your work than that?
